Axel Meier was appointed CFO of Siemens Smart Infrastructure as of April
1, 2019.
Previously, Mr. Meier served as CFO of the Siemens Building Technologies
Division. In this position he played a key role in the division’s business
success.
Mr. Meier joined Siemens in 1988 as a financial analyst. In 1997, he
became Vice President of Business Administration for Siemens Information
and Communications Mobile LLC, located in Bocholt, Germany.
In 2000, he assumed responsibilities for Siemens Information and
Communication Mobile LLC in San Diego, CA, USA. Four years later, Mr.
Meier became CFO of the Siemens Building Technologies Division, located
in Buffalo Grove IL, USA. In 2009, he was appointed CFO of Siemens
Industry Division, in Atlanta, GA, USA, overseeing the Siemens
Infrastructure & Cities Sector as well as the Siemens Industry Sector. As of
April 1, 2015, he was appointed CFO of the Building Technologies
Division.
Thanks to his broad experience and financial systems acumen, Mr. Meier
has repeatedly and substantially contributed to unprecedented growth and
profitability of the Siemens business units for which he had taken
responsibility.
Mr. Meier holds a degree in Financial Business Management from Siegen
University in Germany. He was born on May 17, 1963 in Daaden, Germany.
