tech-100-2023

Siemens Government Technologies (SGT), Inc. – the federally-focused U.S. arm of technology powerhouse Siemens – is honored to announce that the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) has chosen SGT as a Tech 100 company for 2023.

Each year, NVTC Tech 100 honors the most groundbreaking companies, executives and emerging leaders in the Greater Washington region who are driving innovation, developing cutting-edge technologies, and contributing to economic growth. In 2023, SGT excelled in advancing innovations for government customers. From developing Federal Risk and Authorization Management Program (FedRAMP®) cloud service solutions, to deploying digital twin and thread technologies and strengthening cyber-attack monitoring and responses systems, SGT continues to be at the forefront of digital and smart infrastructure transformation across the government sector.

"We are incredibly proud to be headquartered in Northern Virginia and be a key contributor to the important work done across the region supporting vital government institutions. As integrators of the globally trusted products and services of Siemens, a world leader in digital transformation, Siemens Government Technologies has the innovation to not only support our customers' missions, but also accelerate them forward,” said John Ustica, President and Chief Executive Officer at SGT.

The past year proved to be a landmark year for innovation at SGT, with the company providing solutions focused on increasing the security, performance, and resilience of operational systems for government customers. SGT continues to enhance the patent pending SIBERprotect®, the most advanced, real-time cyber-attack monitoring and response solution for operational technology systems that dramatically mitigate the impact of cyber threats within milliseconds at machine speed. The company also received FEDRAMP® “In-Process” designation for Mendix Cloud for Government, a cloud-agnostic platform that runs on AWS GovCloud (US) and is managed by SGT to empower federal customers to deploy their technology stack via public or private cloud, on premises, at the edge, or in hybrid configurations.

In addition, SGT worked with multiple service organizations to provide significant modernization and infrastructure improvements. The company collaborated with the U.S. Army to provide smart building and security technologies with modular automation and integrated energy saving upgrades to enhance the efficiency and resilience of buildings and operations. SGT enabled the commissioning of the liquefied natural gas (LNG) power plant at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, where a microgrid management system provides an interconnected power supply with battery storage and solar. Through this project, the base is expected to achieve $10 million in annual fuel savings and $24.6 million in annual energy savings over a 22-year period, along with a reduction of 20,000 tons of CO2 emissions annually.

Connecting federal agencies to the comprehensive, end-to-end portfolio of a worldwide advanced technology leader, SGT is Siemens’ only entity capable of supporting the government through programs and initiatives in all restricted information access environments.
